FETC Membership
FETC membership category represents therapists who have completed our foundation and diploma level accredited courses. However if you have not done our courses you can still join as an affiliate member.
The FETC is a registered organisation of the National Counselling Society (NCS) and allows our members to access the benefits provided by the FETC as a group and NCS.

- The FETC Members Logo can be used on your websites, emails and social media, and you can use the letters MFETC after your name.
- The NCS Logo can also be used.
- Professional status and recognition.
- PSA Authority recognition – FETC under NCS is currently PSA recognised, which enables you to use PSA logos for client confidence.
- General Medical Council guidance: doctors can refer patients to practitioners on PSA Accredited Registers.
- Practitioner advertising – provide your clinic contact details to be added to our NEW Counsellor Locator map.
- Insurance discounts: once you have joined, you qualify for our discounted FETC Affinity Insurance Scheme.
- Make a difference – you can put your ideas directly to both the FETC trustees and training team.
- Access useful tools in the document download area.

Fees
The fee for membership to the FETC is £85 including access to the members area and our specially designed and discounted insurance scheme should you wish to be insured through our insurers.
Once your membership has been approved, the insurance options will be available to you in the website’s Members Area. This is paid for separately.
How to join the FETC
Practitioners who meet the above requirements wishing to become an FETC member can join directly online.
By becoming a member, you agree to abide by our codes and policies. These have been designed explicitly around current standards and have been drawn up in line with NCS and PSA guidelines.
To sign up online, you will need to provide:
- Confirmation that you have read understood and agreed to the codes and policies detailed below
- An electronic copy of your FETC diploma course certificate(s). Please make sure this is clear and legible.
